Teeple, Colleen Marie 2/25/1952 - 3/19/2021 Shipshewana, IN On Friday, March 19, 2021, Colleen Marie Teeple (Kean) passed away at the age of 69. Colleen was born on February 25, 1952 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to William and Bette Kean. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1970 and made her home in Kalamazoo, Elkhart, and Shipshewana. On September 1, 1979, she married the love of her life, Jeffrey Teeple. Colleen had a passion for gourmet cooking, traveling, and being extremely generous to those around her. She mentored school kids in the Elkhart School District and loved to see them progress. Additional passions were her family. First and foremost came her husband and their love for lake life and travel. They recently completed their dream trips to Italy and Ireland. Colleen often planned for their next get away a year or more in advance. She loved her 3 sisters, Judy (Richard) Dukeman, Rebecca (Andris) Vizulis, and Lauren (Dan) Honda. The other loves of her life include her nieces and nephews (Alison, Tim, Arjana, Ryan and Gavin) and her heart was stolen by her great nephews and nieces (Matthew, Amanda, Brandon, Zara and Akira). She is also survived by her beloved mother-in-law, Cleola Teeple. Colleen was preceded in her death by her father (William), her mother (Bette), her brother (William Jr) and her father-in-law (John Teeple). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honorarium to the American Diabetes Association at P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or the Stone Lake Conservation Club at PO Box 325, Middlebury, IN 46540. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date.
