Grannan, Colleen 4/3/1936 - 11/22/2021 Kalamazoo Colleen Grannan was born in Kalamazoo on April 3,1936 to Richard and Calista Dennany. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Wayne, her sisters Theresa King, Anita Edgerton, Dolores Wagar, and Aurelie Lindsley, her husband Dale, her great-grandson Ayden VanTuyl, and her granddaughters Cody Butler and Abby Hartfield. Colleen graduated from St. Augustine High School where she excelled academically and found a lifelong love of reading, learning, and word puzzles. She truly enjoyed life as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother, and was at her happiest caring for her family, her home, and her garden. She worked for the Durametallic Corporation (later acquired by Flowserve), where she retired in 1997 after 25 years in the Personnel/Human Resources department. After retirement, she spent her free time reading, stayed up to date watching all varieties of news programs, and kept her mind sharp with crossword puzzles. Colleen is survived by her children, Wayne Grannan (Kalamazoo, MI), Guy Grannan (Felton, CA), Juli (Paul) Hartfield (Paw Paw, MI), Jodi (John) Musser (Comstock, MI), and Jennifer (Robert) Hruska (Raleigh, NC), her grandchildren Summer Grannan, Maceon Grannan, Amy Hartfield, Daniel Hartfield, Alexander Musser, Travis Musser, Hailey (Musser) French, Kelly Hruska, and Robert Hruska, and her great-grandchildren Caitlyn Grannan, Logan Wilson, Landon Wilson, June Grannan, Braleigh Grannan, Andrew VanTuyl, Audrey Butler, Ernest Butler, and Zoe Butler. Colleen died on November 22, 2021 from pancreatic cancer. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Joseph Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society. A graveside burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery will follow mass for her immediate family. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of Colleen's life at her home at 3 PM.
