Obituary
Clyde N. Hovinga, aged 85, of Kentwood, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 20, 2007. He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Hovinga (nee Bradley). He is survived by his children, John (Diana) Hovinga, Mark Hovinga, Mary Hovinga, Katherine (Mike) Bojas and Paul Hovinga; grandchildren, Lindsey, Amy, John, Kelly, Eric, Jordan and Andrew; his beloved sister, Maxine (Louis) Cain; and many nieces and nephews. His life was defined by his love of his family, friends and country. He served with distinctintion in World War II and Korea as a member of the 99th Bomber, 334th Bomber and 320th Air Refueling Sqadrons. He took great joy in his grandchildren. He delighted in golf, reading, travel and apple pie, and he treasured the people he shared these with. Strangers soon became friends.
