Boekeloo, Clayton 3/29/1937 - 2/1/2023 Leroy, MI Clayton Earl Boekeloo passed away early Wednesday morning, at his residence in Leroy, Michigan. Clayton was born March 29, 1937 in Kalamazoo, the son of Willard and Bertha (Ruse) Boekeloo. He was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area until shortly after his retirement in 1996, where he then relocated to Goose Lake in Leroy, Michigan. Prior to his retirement he was employed with Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery for 35 years. Clayton was a 1955 graduate of Richland High School where he enjoyed playing basketball and forming lifetime friendships with many of his classmates. In 1968 he married Karen R. Cronkhite, and resided in Parchment MI. They raised three sons and provided support for other close family members. They were long time members of Haven Reformed Church. Moving to Goose Lake, Clayton enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Clayton was preceded in death by his father and mother, brother Claude Boekeloo, sister Marie Toornman, and a half-brother Clyde Adams. Surviving is his loving wife of 54 years, Karen R. Boekeloo, sons Barry(Sally),Brian(Barb), Brad(Karen),brother Richard (Bonnie)Boekeloo. Grandchildren Andrew(Daniel le), Adam(Allie), Alisa(Jon) Green, Ashley(Chris)Fouch, Derek(John), Ryan(Sarah), and Laura(Salvador). Great Grandchildren Quinn, Riley, Bentley, Skyler, Carter, and Micah. Several nieces and nephews, and extended Cronkhite families of Jon(Pat), Steve (Lynne), and Linda. A celebration of Clayton's life is planned to take place August 12, 2023 at their home on Goose Lake in Leroy Michigan.
