Clara J. Porcaro, age 95, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Ridgewood Care Center. Clara was born in Milwaukee, November 5, 1919, daughter of the late Walter and Julianna (Nee: Jankowski) Marunowski and had been a Racine resident since 1945.

Clara attended St. Hyacint and St. Adalbert’s Schools in Milwaukee. On June 26, 1943 she was united in marriage to Sam Porcaro in St. Adalbert’s Church in Milwaukee, WI who preceded her in death, December 10, 2010. She was employed as a bindery worker in Milwaukee and at Belle City Press for thirteen years. Clara was also employed at Porcaro’s Grocery Store for thirty-three years as a grocery clerk. For the past seventy years, Clara was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as President of the Christian Women, and was a former Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed playing cards, baking, dancing, but most of all she loved having her family around. She will be greatly missed.

Surviving are her son, James (Mary) Porcaro of Racine; her daughter, Julie (Jeff) Callahan of Appleton; granddaughters, Andrea (Christopher) Schluter of Slinger, Kathryn (Joseph) Wolters of Denver, CO; great-grandson, Colton Schluter of Slinger; sister, Sylvia Samsa of Willoghby, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Marunowski of Green Bay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Clara was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Sam; her parents; great-granddaughter, Isabella Schluter; brothers, Larry, Frank, Anthony, Al, Edward, John; sisters, Mary Domagalski, Sophie Maliborski, Stella Heine, Bernice Miller, and Frances Marunowski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 25, 2015, 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M.
