Charlotte Barina, age 90, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. She was born in Racine, May 26, 1927, daughter of the late Kazimier and Helen (Nee: Biziewska) Bazylewicz.

Charlotte graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1945”. On April 11, 1953 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Robert V. Barina. Charlotte was a longtime active member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and Sacristan. She volunteered her time serving as a Girl Scout Leader, a Voting Poll Worker and working at St. Vincent de Paul’s Food Pantry. She enjoyed gardening, swimming, camping, fishing, knitting, sewing, and upholstery. Charlotte was an excellent baker and well known for her spectacular birthday cakes. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and great-grandmother, she treasured the time spent with her family. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Bob; 4 children, Susan (Al) Miller of Franksville, Sally (Dene) Halvorson of Duluth, MN, Thomas (Pat) Barina of New Berlin, Jean (Steve) Casey of Neenah; grandchildren, Lorrie (Chris) Brown, Vincent Miller, Martin (Ann) Halvorson, Kristin Halvorson, Berit Halvorson, Michael (Kristin) Barina, Andrew (Jaya) Barina, Rachelle Barina, Andria (Jake) Farthing, Sam Casey, Kelly Casey; great grandchildren, Logan and Carson Brown, Chase, Hailey Charlotte, and Kelsey Barina, Ava and Ben Barina, Netanya and Linnea Halvorson; sister-in-law, Alice Barina; many beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Anthony Miller, her sister, Ann Mandli and her brother, Edward Bazylewicz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, Saturday, September 2, 2017, 10:30 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church 1903 Green Street, with Reverend Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home 5-7 P.M. and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:30 A.M. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or the Medical Mission Sisters have been suggested.
