On Sunday, June 2, 2024, Charles "Chuck" Walling, age 92, of Southport, North Carolina passed away.
Mr. Walling was born June 19, 1931 in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Charles and Mary Walling. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Japan during the Korean Conflict.
Chuck was an avid golfer and had six hole-in-ones.
He attended Church at Mill Creek Baptist Church in Winnabow. He was a Christian man who loved his Church and his family; he was always thinking of them first.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Cora Walling; three children, Dr. Margie Walling of Arvada, CO, Charles Scott Walling, III and wife Nita, of Winterville, NC, Sherry Anne Quinones of Orange Park, FL; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Hillsburg and Betty Mitscher; and a brother, John David Walling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Walling; and sister, Evelyn Grinder.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 in the Peacock - Newman & White Funeral Home Chapel.
