Charles Pike

Pike, Charles "Chuck" 9/26/1945 - 9/10/2021 Kalamazoo Passed away September 10, 2021. Chuck was born in Kalamazoo, on September 26, 1945, the son of Ray and Millie (Switzer) Pike Sr. Chuck enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August 1965 and retired in November 1987 at the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer. He was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and volunteered at the Battle Creek VA for 22 years. Chuck was active in Naval ship reunions and naval history research. He enjoyed collecting HO scale model trains, K-Wings Hockey, and professional baseball. Chuck was preceded in death by brothers: Ray Jr., Joe, Don and Jim. Surviving are siblings: Ralph (Nancy), Phil (Lynne), Mary Stewart, Judi Pike and Cathy (Simon) Jones, Uncle Fred, former sister-in-law: Kathe Pike, several cousins, numerous nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday, September 15, 2021, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Parchment Redmond Funeral Home, 2300 East G. Ave., 349-7735. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church 939 Charlotte Ave., Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Mary's Catholic Church or Naval Marine Relief Society.
