82, died December 30, 2019. Born on May 2, 1937 in Elberta the son of William and Greta (Myers) Barrons. On August 10, 1957, Charles married Martha Marie Merica celebrating 55 years of marriage until her passing. He had many talents. Woodworking being one, having made many furniture pieces for family and friends, and did many remodeling projects. He was a perfectionist, and it clearly showed in his work. He was also a neat-nick! A place for everything and everything in its place. He made sure to instill the value of hard work in his children. The many summers we spent at both of our Grandmother's houses working in the gardens, mowing lawns, even putting in an orchard. But he always made time to take the family on vacation. We have some great memories of our family vacations. What more can we say about him? Plenty. He was so many things: kind, caring, stern, funny, loving, honest, handsome, particular, meticulous, wise, talented. We could go on and on, but best of all, he was our Dad. We'll miss you Dad, but your love for us and the values you have instilled in us will live in our hearts forever. Breathe easy and say hi to Mom for us. We love you. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Martha and daughter in law Sue. Being one of 14 children, he is survived by sisters, Alta and Nancy and brothers William, Gary, and Patrick. Also surviving are his children Curtis (Vicky) Barrons, Tammy (David) Shugars, and Cristine (Billy) Gaines, Grandchildren Paul (Denise) Barrons, Charles (Melissa) Barrons, Sarah Barrons (Rob) and Chaz Shugars; 4 Great grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving our beloved Aunt Juanita Merica who has been an angel to Dad and our family. Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, January 18 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the VFW Red Arrow Post #1527, 1920 E. Kilgore Service Rd. Kalamazoo. Contributions may be given to Celery City Moose Lodge 2694, VFW Post 1527 or a charity of one's choice. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Home, Benzonia.
