Charles Ervin Louis Francis age (80), passed away on April 7, 2024, with his wife and children by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Penny Diane Francis and their four children: Kimberly (Charles) Mano, Khristine (Patrick) Poehler, Ryan (Lisa) Francis and Candice (Martin) Licht. Grandchildren; Michaela, Hollie, Zachary, Hannah, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Madison, Caleb and Andrew. Great grandchildren: Lincoln and Logan. He leaves behind his best friend of over 65 years, Henry Luedtke. Siblings: Loretta, Laura, Doris, and George, nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Hedwig Francis.

Charles worked at S.C. Johnson's for over 40 years. His work ethic was unmatched, he never missed a day of work, even taking his snowmobile to work during an especially bad snowstorm. Charles loved his family fiercely. He never missed an opportunity to see his children or grandchildren in a game or sporting event. Even as his children grew, he was the official scorekeeper for their kickball and softball games. Charles always found a reason to spend time outdoors. He loved playing ball, a good game of golf, and taking care of his garden. He also enjoyed hunting pheasant and deer. He looked forward to the time he would spend up at the cabin with his family and friends. Even in his later years, Charles made his way up north and out to the stand. It was quality time that he truly cherished. His lawn was the envy of the neighborhood and because he loved driving around on his lawn mower his neighbors and children were gifted free lawncare.

Charles loved Church, recently a member of Water of Life, 2921 Olive Street, Racine, WI.

Charles never turned down M&M peanuts, a burger, a chocolate shake, or a cat on his lap. He loved working on his computer, watching NASCAR, and the Packers. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and when visiting was usually one of the last to leave. Charles had a memorable sense of humor that will stay with his family forever. When his grandchildren stopped by, they expected to be greeted with a huge smile and an endless handshake. He was the originator of the dad jokes and his family fell for them endlessly. His memory may have faded, but his smile never did. For anyone that knew him there will be a void in our hearts that will never be filled.

The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 15, 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 9:30 until the time of service. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to the charity of your choice have been suggested.

The family wants to thank the many ICU nurses at Ascension All Saints Hospital who provided comfort, love, and dignity to our father.
