Charles E. Fiegel, age 91, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015 at St. Monica’s Senior Citizen Home. Charles was born in Rochester, MN, February 3, 1924, son of the late Milton and Alta (Nee: Love) Fiegel.

A World War II veteran, Charles proudly served in the US Army and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. On August 5, 1944 he was united in marriage to Lois A. Schroeder. In his earlier years, he was employed by Gorton Machine as a plant engineer. Charles was a longtime member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts for over 50 years, 28 years as Scout Master. He also volunteered for 21 years with Toys for Tots. Above all he was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventy years, Lois; his children, Thomas (Susie) Fiegel of MO, Nancy (Randy) Paulsen, Paul (Therese Fellner) Fiegel, all of Racine; his grandchildren, Molly, Erik, Joseph, and Benjamin; brother, John (June) Fiegel of Racine; sister, Joan Zemke of OK; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Fiegel, and brother, Joseph Fiegel.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 31, 2015, 11:30 A.M. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green Street, with Rev. Don Zirkel officiating. Private entombment will be held at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10:00 A.M. until 11:15 A.M. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.

Charles’ family wishes to thank St. Monica’s and Hospice Alliance Nurses, Debbie and Jen, for the loving and compassionate care of their father.
