Carol M. Wenszell, age 82, passed away on Friday June 26, 2015 at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Carol was born in Racine on May 31, 1933, daughter of the late Walter and Angela (Nee: Kusters) Carlson.

She was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1951”. On October 10, 1959 at St. Edward Catholic Church, Carol was united in marriage to Tyrell J. Wenszell. Before her marriage, she was employed with Hamilton Beach for eight years. She was a longtime dedicated member of St. Rita Catholic Church, where she also volunteered in the grade school for over twelve years. In her spare time, Carol enjoyed, crocheting, cooking and bowling. More than anything, she loved her time with her family.

Carol will be dearly missed by her husband Terry Wenszell; children, Maureen (Dan) Quella of Racine, Lisa (Michael) Dawson of Union Grove; grandchildren, Calli and Caitlin Quella, Alexander and Lindsay Dawson; sister, Suzanne (Rick) Tully of New Lisbon; brothers, Wallace (Jackie) Carlson of Sturgeon Bay, and Lawrence Carlson of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her brother Henry Carlson, and sister Ardith (Ed) Kiersztian.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Wednesday, July 1st between 4 and 6 pm at Maresh-Meredith and Acklam Funeral Home. Service will follow at 6 pm. Memorials to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or one’s favorite charity have been suggested.

A very special thank you to the staff at Elizabeth Residence as well as the staff at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care.
