Carol Feldt

Feldt, Carol L. Scotts, Michigan Carol Louise Haskin Feldt, age 93, of Scotts, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, with her children at her side. Carol was born August 17, 1929, in Big Rapids, MI, to parents Carl & Georgia Haskin. Carol graduated from Western State Normal School in 1946 and attended Western Michigan University to study bookkeeping. Carol met her future husband Robert Feldt at a square dance at the Y in 1954, and they were married later that year at the First Baptist Church, where they were lifelong members. Carol was an avid square dancer and a square dance caller, following in her father's footsteps. Her calling took her around Kalamazoo and surrounding areas for a variety of groups and schools. Carol most recently called dances at the Scotts Community Jammin' sessions. Carol and Bob also had a passion for boating, which led them to become charter members of the Kalamazoo Downstreamer's Canoe Club. What defined Carol was her service to others. She participated in Meals-on-Wheels, March of Dimes, and Loaves & Fishes, among other charities. But her greatest service was as the Pavilion Township Senior Group Program Director for 30+ years. Each event she touched was influenced by her insight to see that participation by everyone was the key to success. Carol is survived by her children: Marcy (John) Mein and Mark (Karen) Feldt. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert. Friends may visit with her family on Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, 411 E. Centre Avenue, Portage. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Kalamazoo, 315 W Michigan Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Burial will be at Mt.
