Obituary
Carol Jean Block, age 78, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, passed away Friday, May 23, 2025. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and quiet strength. She was born on May 21, 1947, in Kalamazoo to the late Herbert and Tresa (Potgeisser) Knapper.
On December 2, 1966, Carol married Marvin Block. A proud graduate of Kalamazoo Christian High School, Carol began her career serving the community through her work at the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. She later found her professional home at Bronson Methodist Hospital, where she dedicated over 30 years of service. She was known for her humor and warmth.
Carol's life was defined not only by her career but by her many passions. Among them was her love for Longaberger baskets-a passion that grew into a successful side business. Her enthusiasm and leadership led her to become a regional manager, where she built friendships and inspired many within the Longaberger community.
Surviving Carol are her Children, Steven (Mary Beth) Block and Lynn Rocca; grandchildren, Sidney Block, Dante Rocca, and Berkley Rocca; and sister, Dorothy Carlisle. She is preceded in passing by her husband, Marvin, and her parents.
