Candy Lee Laymon-Reits

Age 62 of Mattawan, passed away at her home on Thursday, April 9, 2020 due to ongoing health issues. She was born on August 21, 1957 in Kalamazoo, and was the youngest daughter of Homer Laymon and Jacqueline (Baker) Laymon. She graduated from Portage Central High School and after graduating took classes at WMU. She worked at JC Penney for several years before leaving to become a stay at home Mom for her 3 boys whom she loved very much and were her whole world. She was currently employed at Speedway in Mattawan. Candy loved and enjoyed working with her co-workers and looked forward to seeing her regular customers. She was a people person through and through. Candy is survived by her sons: Nevada and girlfriend Sarah Arendsen, Montgomery and Daren; her husband of 21 years Dean Reits; siblings Penny (Steve) Wiley of Marcellus and Linda McGuire of Stevensville; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Patrick McGuire. Due to the coronavirus concerns, there will be no services at this time.
