Burl Davidson, Jr.

Burl A. Davidson, Jr., age 61, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017. Burl was born October 27, 1955, in Kalamazoo to Burl A. and Mary Ellen (Vleugel) Davidson, Sr. He was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kathy" Swynenberg on July 14, 1979 for nearly 38 loving years together. Burl is survived by his wife, Kathy Davidson; children, Kristine (Ben) Erickson and Burl A. "Andy" Davidson, III; 1 soon-to-be granddaughter, Aria; father, Burl, Sr.; siblings, Shirley (Jim) Fankhauser and Gail Moore; father and mother-in-law, Everett (Mary) Swynenberg; brothers-in-law, Gary (Brenda) Swynenberg and Bryon (Patti) Swynenberg; and many nieces and nephews. Burl was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ellen Davidson. The family will greet friends on Saturday, January 21st from 10-11:00 a.m. at West Kalamazoo Christian Church, 454 S Drake Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49009, where a memorial service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A private committal will take place at a later date. Family is being served by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Burl's name may be directed to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan or to West Michigan Cancer Center.
