Bruce Betteridge

Bruce R. Betteridge, aged 72, of Branch, formerly of Grandville, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2007 at Memorial Medical Center in Ludington. Bruce was born on May 11, 1934 in Grand Rapids to George W. and Lorna G. (Matson) Betteridge, and graduated from South High School with the class of 1952. On April 7, 1956, he married Patricia Shoemaker in Grandville, and they have celebrated 51 years together. Bruce served as the Executive Vice President for Parker Motor Freight, Inc. retiring in 1985 after 34 years. Upon his retirement, he and Patricia moved to Branch, where Bruce enjoyed spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing, cutting wood and gardening. One of his favorite hobbies has been researching their family genealogy. He was preceded in death by his parents. Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia; children, Douglas (Tammie) Betteridge of Branch, Debra (David) Schuette of IL, Cathy (Roger) Reimink of Wayland, Laura (Kurt) Berens of Hudsonville; grandchildren, Sara, and Mark Schuette, Amanda, and Jessica Reimink, Danielle, Justin, Katelyn Berens; sister, Kaye Mosier of CA; brother-in-law, Ray (Elaine) Shoemaker of Grandville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr., Grandville with Rev. Art Wiers officiating. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park.
