Brian VandePolder

VandePolder, Brian Roy Lansing, MI Brian Roy VandePolder, age 77, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021. Brian was born on September 19, 1944, the son of the late Howard VandePolder and Lois Estelle (Howe) VandePolder. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. He attended Western Michigan University, receiving his BA in 1971. He later attended Baker College, receiving his MBA in 2005. He enlisted in the Navy in 1964 and remained in the Naval Reserve for many years. He retired from the Navy as a Chief Intelligence Specialist on September 1, 1992. He also retired from CTS as a Senior Accountant after many years of service. He was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church in Kalamazoo. He belonged to the Northwest Territory Alliance, the Calhoun and Kalamazoo County Republic Party, the Michigan and National Associations of CPA's, Colleagues International, and the American Red Cross in Calhoun County. He was united in marriage with Constance "Connie" Eaman, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his sister, Joyce Irene Hall; nieces and nephews, Judy Bradfield, Linda (Jim) Killian, Roger Hall, and Loreen (Robert) Atkinson; and God-daughter, Dawn Curry. Cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Westwood United Methodist Church, 538 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49006. A luncheon will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. A committal service will take place on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted by the Navy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to N.W.
