Hill, Brenda 12/22/1929 - 1/28/2021 Galesburg Passed away on January 28, 2021 at the age of 91. Brenda was born in Galesburg, Michigan on December 22, 1929. The daughter of Elden and Winifred (Welsh) Burgess. Brenda graduated from Galesburg-Augusta High School, Stephens College, Michigan State University and Western Michigan University. She went on to teach for Marshall Public Schools and Galesburg-Augusta Schools. She retired after teaching second grade for 25 years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother who loved spending time with her family having get-togethers and family dinners. Brenda loved reading, sewing, her flowers, crafts, and luncheons with friends. Brenda was a member of Galesburg Congregational United Church of Christ where she served as a deacon, financial secretary, and co-chair of women's fellowship. She belonged to MARSP and KARSP (Michigan and Kalamazoo Association of Retired School Personnel), Eight O'clock Club and a Bunco Group. Brenda is survived by her children, Scott (Judy) Hill, Todd (Debra) Hill, Lori (Doug) Norton; grandchildren, Melissa (Andy) Geth, Travis (Sara) Hill, Samantha (Ryan Rogers) Reynolds, Chris Stevens, Jason (Janay) Stafford, Tony Norton, and Abby (Jeff) Stewart; Seventeen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Roy, after 52 years of marriage; Sisters, Barbara (Forrest) MacKellar and Judy (B.J.) Nielsen. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G.
