Ransbottom, Bonnie Martin, Michigan Bonnie Lee Ransbottom passed away Saturday, March 25, at the Wings of Hope Hospice Home in Allegan after a brief illness. Bonnie was born on May 2, 1933, in Plainwell, Michigan. She was the daughter of Myrton and Mary (Fetzer) Closs. She graduated from Martin High School in 1951. She married Robert Ransbottom on April 18, 1952, spending nearly 71 years together. Bonnie grew up on the family farm and continued to help work the farm throughout much of her life. She also raised the most amazing flowers and gardens, while preserving a large portion of produce. She had many talents, such as building and hand-carving wooden chests, clocks, and other treasures that were passed throughout her entire family, numerous quilts, crocheted and knitted blankets and sweaters. She also loved to read. Bonnie also had other talents involving mechanics; she could fix a washing machine or take apart a wristwatch completely and put it back in working order. She especially loved the outdoors and spent many enjoyable years with her family camping, fishing, riding her dirt bike and power walking 4 miles a day into her late 80s. Surviving are her husband, Robert; her sisters: Gerrie (Les) Nyland and Barbara Shannon; her daughter, Teri (Robert) Schiedel; her sons: Daniel (Harriett) Ransbottom and Randi Ransbottom; her grandchildren: Matthew (Jennifer) Schiedel, Angela (Jason) Daniels, Nicole (William) Whittemore, Lisa (Adam) Butler, Jenny (fianc Rex Owens) Cooper, Ben Ransbottom and numerous great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and her very special friend, Susie Dekoekoek. Preceding her in death were her parents and brother-in-law, William Shannon. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services were held at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Please share memories of Bonnie with her family at www.langelands.com
