Bobby D. Burpo

Died Thursday morning, December 1, 2005. Bobby was born October 10, 1941 in Troy, Tennessee, a son of Dwight and Jennie Ruth (Griffin) Burpo. He served honorably with the U.S. Army. He had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of his life, and was employed with Western Michigan University for 38 years, retiring in 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Billy. He is survived by 2 daughters, Debra (Jeff) Lee and Diane (Robert) Luyendyk, all of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren, Alaina and Katelyn; his former wife, Barbara of Kalamazoo; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held 1 o'clock Monday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Disabled Veteran's Fund.
