Beverly I. Christensen, age 88, passed away March 19, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. Beverly was born in Racine on September 12, 1935, daughter of the late Charles and Nina (nee: Royer) Erickson.

Beverly was a proud graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1953”. On June 25, 1955, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, John M. Christensen. They raised two children, Joy and Jim, and shared nearly sixty-two beautiful years together before John preceded her in death in 2017. Beverly was employed with Racine Unified School District for twenty-two years. She was a dedicated member of First United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading mystery novels and her travels across the country. Above all, Beverly loved her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Beverly will be dearly missed by her children, Joy McClelland, Jim Christensen; grandchildren, Jeremie Thiel, Melanie (Michael) Kirk and Shannon (Justin) Hirth; great grandchildren; Cyril, Angel, Mira, Gavin, Tyler, Dylan, Charlotte and Johnathan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Beverly was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott McClelland, and her brother, George (Dolores) Erickson.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St. on Wednesday March 27, 2024, 1:30 pm. with Rev. Sue Ott-Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 12:30 pm until time of service at 1:30 pm. Memorials to the family or First United Methodist Church have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the staff at The Villa at Lincoln Park (especially Linda and Roberto). The family would also like to thank the caring doctors and nurses at Ascension Hospital for making her last day comfortable.
