Beatrice P. Duckett Tekonsha, MI June 18, 1916 - February 26, 2008 Beatrice P. Duckett, 91, of Tekonsha, passed away, February 26, 2008 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. She was born June 18, 1916 in West Virginia to John and Cora (Hale) Prater. She married Louis Duckett. Beatrice worked at Weston Biscuit/Interbake of Battle Creek for 37 years. After retirement she attended retirees breakfast until the time of her death. She is survived by her children, Sylvia (Jack-deceased) Wages of Coldwater, Louis "Bud" (Karen-deceased) Duckett of Tekonsha, Sandy Kay (Ora) Swick of Tekonsha; 7 grandchildren, Jack (Angie) Wages, Jr., Brian (Katie) Wages, Andrea Roerig, Laura (Steve) Leach, Michael (Trina) Duckett, Mya Kavanaugh, Shannon (Chris) Swick Vreeland; 10 great-grandchildren, Marshall, Nolan, and Casey Wages, Zachary and Emily Roerig, Keegan Leach, Hunter and Easton Duckett, Mya Kavanaugh and Joshua Vreeland; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Vivian Wages. She was preceded in death by her husband Louis in 1968, 10 brothers and sisters, and two grandchildren, Eric and Bradley Wages. Beatrice was a member of the Union United Church of Christ in Tekonsha. She bowled on various leagues until the age of 85. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, and cooking. She was an avid walker and her life revolved around family. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union United Church of Christ in Tekonsha with Pastor Barbara Pryor officiating.
