Barbara Jean Cappaert

Passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the age of 81. She was born December 22, 1934 in Kalamazoo to the late Gilbert and Geraldine (Snyder) Sager. She was united in marriage to William Cappaert on May 5, 1956, who preceded her in death in 1999. Barbara was a member of the Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Eagles Lodge and of the Moose Lodge and very active within the Women of the Moose. Barbara worked for Impact Label Corporation for many years until her retirement. As a person, she was known to be an extremely thoughtful and caring lady. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lynne (Charlene Snow) Cappaert and Carol (Benton Tackett) Taylor; 2 grandchildren, Wendy (Leo) Cherette and Victoria Rose; 4 great grandchildren, William Cherette, Grace Cherette, Makenzie Rose and Cody Robinson; sister, Suzanne Harris; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mary Jo Taylor. At the request of the family, cremation has taken place and no visitation or services are scheduled. There will be a private memorial at the family cottage in Harrison, MI at a later date. The family is served by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Barbara's name may be directed to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan, Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes or Alzheimer's Association .
