Barbara Clark

Barbara Elaine Clark, age 85 of Portage, MI passed away following a heroic 16 month battle with a terminal illness on Saturday evening, April 1, 2017 at Butterfly Oasis, where she was residing when she made her final journey to her loving husband in heaven. She was born on April 11, 1931 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Andrew M. and Thelma B. (Hayes) Vorce. On October 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Clark in Kalamazoo, who preceded her in death on July 18, 2006. Surviving are her two daughters: Sonia (Edward) Darling of Paw Paw and Sandra Shubnell of Scotts; seven grandchildren: Peggy Lockwood, Jessica Scott, Richard (Rebecca) Darling, Patrick Shubnell, Laura Dezi, Brittany (fiance, Matt Gregory) Shubnell and Travis Shubnell; and five great-grandchildren: Kaeden, Gavin, Connor, Jessie and Amelia. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday, April 7, and Saturday from 10-11 AM on Saturday, April 8, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, where a funeral service to celebrate Barb's life will begin at 11:00 AM. Entombment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Butterfly Oasis, Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan or Kalamazoo Humane Society.
