Arlene Nieboer

Nieboer, Arlene kalamazoo On Friday, March 4, 2022, Arlene Mae Nieboer passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior. She is survived by her husband, Harm Nieboer, daughter, Terri Martin, Son, Tim Nieboer (Betsy) and grandchildren Chelsea Kirkwood (Ian), Andrew Bedinger (Laura), Samantha Nieboer, and Fletcher Nieboer. Arlene was born September 27, 1934. She was 87 years old. Arlene met the love of her life, a handsome sailor, in 1957. They married in May of 1959. Arlene and Harm were coming up on 63 years of marriage. Their marriage was an example of love, dedication, and adventure to everyone who knew them. Even though Arlene lived with pain the last years of her life, she is known as the "soup lady". Arlene and Harm would visit those who were ill and healing or suffering loss and bring them soup and cookies. She rarely talked about her own pain but would often lament about other's suffering. Arlene is known as the kindest soul you could ever want to meet. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She knew how to bless people and loved her family fiercely. She was Jesus' hands and feet to many people. She is now standing before her Creator and LORD of her life, hearing the words, "well done, good and faithful servant." The world was a better place with her in it. We rejoice that we will see her again. A memorial service will be held in Arlene's honor on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Centerpoint Church, 2345 10th Street North, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
