Anthony "Tony" Baccale

Tony Baccale age 72 of Portage passed away on August 12, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Tony was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 2, 1942 to Anthony J. & Mary (McGinnis) Baccale eventually moving to Vero Beach, FL where he graduated from high school. He served his country in the National Guard during the Vietnam Era. Upon his discharge he attended Ball State University where he studied Computer Science. He settled in Portage and spent his career as a systems analyst at Upjohn Company/Pharmacia. He was passionate about flying and had his pilot license. He also loved animals and saving wild wolves. Tony was preceded in his death by his wife of 34 years Carol in 2014, his parents and his sister Adrianne Gallagher. He is survived by his children Susan Wood, Kathie Wood Kline, Larry Wood, Dawn Michelle Baccale, John Newburry and Anthony J. Baccale II and many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as his best friend since childhood, Bruce Zinck. No services are scheduled at this time.
