Mrs. Annie Ruth Dobbs went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Augusta, Georgia. Annie was born April 6, 1951, to Minnie and Eliga Knox, in Hale County, Alabama. Annie attended Kalamazoo public schools and graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1970. She was a long resident of Kalamazoo, and had been employed at Western Michigan University for 14 years as a Chemistry Secretary. Annie was a devoted and faithful member of Faith Temple Church of God, under the leadership of Bishop T.D. Lockett, where she served on the usher board for many years. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Vurlie Ford Knox of Tuscaloosa, AL. Annie leaves behind to cherish forever memories of her mother Minnie Knox of Kalamazoo; Father Eliga Knox of Akron, AL; Her two lovely daughters Dalila Dobbs of Kalamazoo and Anquinnette (Elmer) Higdon of Delton, MI; Three grandchildren, Dayquana, Jayden and Brandon all of Delton, MI; four sisters, Theresa Knox of Kalamazoo, Vurlie (Fred) Dexter, Gloria Jean Snyder, Cynthia Smith all of Tuscaloosa, AL; two brothers Carl Whitt (Willie Mae Warner) and Roger (Mary Prudis) Knox, Sr., of Augusta, GA; five nieces and five nephews; three special friends Margarett Smith, Shirley Jean Whitley and Dorla Evans; along with a host of other family members, friends and a community of people who loved her and whom she loved. Annie has finally made it to the place we are striving to reach...she is in the arms of Jesus! May all who knew and loved her, treasure the many blessings of the life they shared with Sister Annie, and receive comfort and strength from the memories that shall forever remain in your hearts. A Homegoing Celebration will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 12 noon with an 11 AM Family Hour from the Faith Temple Church of God, 114 W. Allen Street, with Bishop T.D.
