Anna M. Christensen, age 102, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Aurora Hospital, Kenosha, WI. Anna was born in Racine, April 10, 1914, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Nee: Kondas) Bodnar.

On March 2, 1935 in Waukegan, IL she was united in marriage to Gordon R. Christensen who preceded her in death, November 5, 1976. Anna was a lifetime active member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. For over thirty-five years she enjoyed volunteering with Toys for Tots. An excellent cook and baker, Anna was especially proud of her Hungarian heritage. Over the past few months Anna had difficulty speaking. Her last words at the hospital were “I love you” to her grandson.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Mary Ann Anderson, Monica (Charles) Krepelan, all of Racine; her grandson, Robbie (Regina) Christensen Krepelan; her two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Autumn; sister, Julie Cashion of Jackson, MS; sister-in-law, Gertrude Bodnar of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her great-granddaughter and godchild, Tiffany; three sisters, Mary Szondi, Margaret Gerber, Leona Hornyak; brother, Frank Bodnar; and friends, Jim and Rita Adamson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, June 1, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Avenue, with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. (Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M.) and Wednesday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M.

A very special thank you to Dr. Robert Gullberg, staff at Brookside Care Center, Aurora Hospital and Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
