Anna Jepkema

Anna Ruth (Ann) Jepkema, age 93, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away March 12, 2017 at Crystal Woods. She was born July 9, 1923 in Kalamazoo to Harm and Nellie (Perton) Jepkema. She worked as a legal secretary well into her 70s, and enjoyed traveling. In her retirement, Ann spent much of her time volunteering, both for her church, Calvary Reformed, and at Park Village Pines. She was a kind and gentle woman who left a soft wake, and that is high praise. A special debt of gratitude goes out to Park Village Pines and all the front line troops who treated her with such compassionate care. You know who you are. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters-in-law Gerb (Florabelle), Fred (Gertrude, Martha), and Harry; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen, Dora (Roy) Wylie, Grace (Dewey) VanDenBerg, 3 nieces and 3 nephews. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ruth Jepkema of Hudsonville, 7 nieces and 11 nephews. The family will greet friends on Friday, March 17th from 10-11 am at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will start at 11:00 am. Pastor Greg Van Heukelom will officiate. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorials may be made to Park Village Pines Benevolence Fund or Calvary Reformed Church.
