Angelina Mary Grindatti Passed away peacefully Wednesday June 2, 2021 at Woodside in Friendship Village. Angelina was born February 15, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of Caesare and Grace (LaVerghetta) D'Adamo. She was a First Lieutenant Registered Nurse in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII. After moving to Kalamazoo, Angie worked as a nurse in a local pediatrician's office, became a foster mom for St. Agnes Foundling Home and a member of St. Monica Church where she was involved in the outreach programs to migrant workers and their families and many other activities. She enjoyed sewing and for years led St Monica's lap robes group. Angie was also involved with her daughter's Girl Scout troop, volunteered with the American Red Cross and was a member of the Kalamazoo Bonsai Club where she pursued her favorite hobby. Angelina was united in marriage to Robert J. Grindatti in Philadelphia on July 6, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1980. Also preceding her in death are three sons, infants Vincent and Mario and teenage son Shawn. Surviving are two children, Mary Clare Harley and William J (Kris) Grindatti; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. Friends will be received 10 – 11 am Monday June 14, 2021 at St. Monica Catholic Church where Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
