Morrill, Amanda A. Kalamazoo, Michigan Amanda "Mandy" A. Morrill, age 77, died January 7, 2021. She was born August 14, 1943, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of William F. and Mary Ellen (Bravender) Clark. Mandy was active in the Girl Scouts, the Job's daughters of the Masonic Order and acting in theater events in high school and community college. She graduated from Flint Central High School, Hurley School of Nursing, and attended MSU. She was a Registered Nurse in Genesee, Ingham, Wayne and Oakland Counties. While working at Henry Ford Hospital she met Dr. John B. Morrill. They wed and moved their growing family to Kalamazoo to open an Internal Medicine Practice, where they both worked. A gifted artist, Mandy was active with the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. She was a member of the Junior League, co-chairing in 1978. She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo. Mandy loved cooking and helped develop the "I've Got a Cook in Kalamazoo" Cookbook. She assisted with Brownies and Girl Scouts Troops while her daughter attended school. She enjoyed good food, entertaining, the theatre, art, music. She taught herself the guitar and loved to play and sing. First and foremost, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed planning amazing vacations for her family and cherished the time they spent making memories at their cottage on Klinger Lake in Sturgis. Her family includes her children: Jenny (Alan Schriefer) Morrill, John N. Morrill, and William (Kathleen) Morrill; her grandchildren: Fritz Mayer and Joshua Schriefer; her brother George (Julie) Clark and several nieces and nephews. Mandy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband John B. Morrill M.D. A private family graveside service will be held at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South.
