Allan Roe

Allan B. Roe, Jr., of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the age of 92. Allan was born February 10, 1925 in Kalamazoo to the late Allan and Elizabeth (Moreland) Roe, Sr. He was united in marriage to Clara Mae Anson on May 11, 1957. Allan served in the U.S. Navy from July of 1943 until honorably discharged in March of 1946. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a member of the UAW Local #488 Retirees chapter. He retired from GM in 1987 and prior to that, he worked for Lockshore Dairy. Allan is survived by his wife, Clara Roe; children, John (Barbara) Roe, Robert (Gail) Roe and Thomas (Barbara Cleland) Roe; 5 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Allan was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Joyce Birdsall. The family will greet friends on Friday, June 2nd from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. A Mass of Christian burial will be Monday, June 5th, 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 936 Lake St., Kalamazoo. Burial will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Memorials in Allan's name may be directed to the American Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice.
