Alice L. Benedict

Benedict, Alice L. Kalamazoo, Michigan Alice Benedict, age 87 of Kalamazoo, went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 9, 2023, Easter Sunday. She was born on August 7, 1935, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of John and Grace (Hughes) Rine. Alice was a 1953 graduate of Hastings High School. On August 11, 1956, she married Norman Benedict. She is survived by her children: Lawrence (Teri) Benedict, Karen (Matthew) Wagner, Pamela (Jack) Ryan, and Laurie (Russell) Bishop; her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sister Jennie (Steve) Osgood; her brother Jim (Anne) Rine; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, and her brothers John and Gordon Rine. Alice was a devoted wife, mother and a God-fearing believer who loved working as a greeter at her church, Northeastern Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and spending time with her friends at church. Alice loved Jesus! She really wanted to ensure all her family served God in the church and she prayed faithfully for those that needed Christ. The family will greet friends on Monday, April 17th, from 1:00-2:00 PM at Northeastern Baptist Church, 6536 East G Avenue, Kalamazoo, 49048, where her service will be held at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Greg Bishop officiating.
