Alfredia Scamehorn

Alfreida M. Scamehorn, age 85, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away July 18, 2016 at Rose Arbor Hospice, Kalamazoo, surrounded by her family. Al was born July 25, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Alfred and Eva (Stoughton) Hagen and has lived the majority of her life in the Kalamazoo area. She was a member and Sunday School Teacher at the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church and was a volunteer at the Borgess Hospital Gift Shop. She also worked as a volunteer fund raiser for Kalamazoo Christian School. Al worked as bookkeeper for her husband at Bill's Union 76 service station. She loved art, reading, crossword puzzles, humming birds, and spending time at the family cottage at Eagle Lake. Surviving are her 2 children, Gayle (Dallas) Webster of Jupiter, FL, William (Rosemarie) Scamehorn of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Angela, Mandie, Brittany, Rachel, Taylor, Allison; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Hogue; 2 brothers, Dick (Shirley) Hagen, Ken (Marge) Hagen; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd "Bill" Scamehorn; daughter, JoAnn Scamehorn; son, Robert "Bob" Scamehorn; and sister, Dorothy Wilkinson. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 21, 2016, from 5-6 PM at the Bloomingdale United Methodist Church where a Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM.
