Alene Jean Mejeur

Alene Jean Mejeur, age 97, passed away June 6, 2024. She was born September 3, 1926 in Kalamazoo to the late Benjamin Burrma and Ida Ula (Bixler) Burrma Blue.

Alene worked for the Upjohn Company for 28 years. She was a great Mom that loved cooking holiday dinners, listening to music, and traveling. She also enjoyed a good game of corn hole.

Alene was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Wubbo Mejeur, in October 2022; her parents; her stepfather, Garry Blue; and siblings: Louis (Allie) Burrma, Edward (Bernice and Alice) Burrma, Marguerite (Roy) Lambeck, and twin sister Irene (Marvin) Kinney.

She is survived by her three daughters, Gloria (Allan) Terpstra, Joan (Brad) Potts, and Carolyn (Tom) Carlson; grandchildren, Bryan Potts, Kevin (Christina) Potts, Matthew (Bridget) Carlson, and Adam (Christina) Carlson; great-grandchildren, Josef, Teddy, Kiely, and Maggie; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, June 10 from 5:00-7:00pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Alene will be laid to rest with her husband at Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
