Alberts Mengelsons, age 92, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017. Alberts was born in Riga, Latvia on December 14, 1924. Alberts was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. He was employed for many years as a machinist for Hammond Machinery Builders. Alberts is survived by a great-niece in Latvia along with a host of close friends and loving neighbors, both in the Latvian and American communities. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Interment of cremated remains will be held next spring in Tannersville, New York at Brala Kapi (Brother's Cemetery). Memorial contributions may be made to the Kalamazoo Latvian Welfare Association, c/o the funeral home.
