Adam Gearhart, aka Desl Vice, of Vicksburg MI, died on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at his home of a heart attack. He was 30 years old.

Adam was born on March 6, 1985 in Lansing, Michigan at Sparrow Hospital. He attended Holt Elementary School, Holt Central High School, and Lansing Community College where he studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Tech, earning a degree in the latter.

In 2006 he met Natasha Taylor and asked her to be his wife. Adam worked as a farm hand at Irish Meadow Farms and dedicated a large part of himself to the horses there. He served as a member of the Masonic Community in Dimondale.

Adam previously worked as a janitor at Lansing Community College as well as for Holt Public Schools.

As a kid, Adam participated in both Pony Club and 4H, showing his dog, Flash as well as his horse, Sienna. He won numerous awards for these projects as well as others, like photography and creative writing.

Adam suffered with Asperger syndrome, was diabetic and was overweight, however he was very comfortable in his own skin. People teased and bullied him, yet he never took it personal. He accepted himself for who he was, which included being overweight, but a very good and kind person with a gentle soul.

To those that knew and understood him, he was a very smart person and a very good friend.

Adam delighted in spending money purchasing what was needed for the local humane society, and delivering cookies to the neighbors at Christmas-time.

A unique soul, Adam was a very funny and quiet person. He enjoyed playing practical jokes on his friends. He will be greatly missed.

Adam is survived by his spouse Natasha and both of his parents, Kathryn Gearhart of Dimondale and Michael Gearhart (Debe) of Missouri, his maternal grandparents, Gloria & Paul Young Jr. of Holt, and Gib & Shirley Strickling of Bangor, and whom he considered his fur covered brother Petie (dog).

Adam was preceeded in death by his uncles Ron & Don Strickling, several step-uncles, several cousins and his paternal grandparents Bob & Judy Gearhart.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held in March of 2016.

In lieu of flowers, please consider the needs of the family. Memorial donations may be made in Adam's name to his surviving spouse Natasha or his mother Kathryn.
