Aaron St. John left this world on February 13, 2020. Born and raised in the Kalamazoo area, he graduated from the Kalamazoo Area Math and Science Center while attending Gull Lake High School. It was around this time he met the love of his life, Jill Parsons. He headed off to Albion College with Jill following a year later. They shared many passions: travel, raising chickens and an enduring love of dogs. They were united in marriage in 1997 and over the next 22 years welcomed two children, Sylvia (13) and Wilson (8) and shared their home with four wonderful dogs. Aaron excelled in mathematics, leading him to a career in technology that took his family from Washington, DC to Brussels, Belgium, to Denver CO, and back home to Kalamazoo. Aaron is survived by his wife and two children, his mother, Karen St. John (William Claspell), a sister, Vanessa St. John; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Garry St. John and brother, Brian St. John. Aaron will be remembered for many things, a generous soul, a deep and abiding sense of right and wrong, and a lifelong passion for learning. He enjoyed growing food for his family from his garden, and fishing. Sylvia and Wilson will especially miss his playful teasing and he will live on through them in their shared love of Belgian chocolates and sweets of all varieties. He worked hard his entire life, and loved his family and was loved by them. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00pm Thursday, February 20 at Langeland Family Funeral Home Burial and Cremation Services, 3926 South 9th Street where funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 21. Private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to support an educational fund for his children.
