Catherine M. Barz, age 85, passed away on Saturday April 19, 2014, at her residence. Catherine was born in Chippewa Falls on February 8, 1929, daughter of the late Wolferd and Margaret (nee: Weber) Eisenreich, and moved to Racine with her family when she was a teenager.

On November 27, 1948, she was united in marriage to Donald W. Gleason, who preceded her in death in 1982. She was later married to John L. Barz, who preceded her in death. Katie was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers. She was previously a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Katie was an excellent cook who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Sharon Gleason of Madison, Charles Gleason of Racine, Theresa (Terry) Miller of CA, Kathleen Gleason and Mary Gleason, both of Milwaukee, Cynthia (Joel) Tew of FL; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marion Eisenreich of Eau Claire, WI; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her siblings, George (Lorraine) Eisenreich, Walter (Margaret) Eisenreich, Lawrence Eisenreich and Gertrude (Warren) Freed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave, Thursday, April 24, 2014, 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Kevin Mullins officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Thursday, 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. Haider and Hospice Alliance for their loving and compassionate care.
