Royal Orin Davis, 81, of Buckley, died Monday, April 14, 2014 at his home.
Royal was born on September 30, 1932 in Suttons Bay, Michigan to Martin R. and Margaret (Loomis) Davis.
He served in Army during the Korean War. On June 12, 1955, Royal married, Barbara J. Robinson in Traverse City. Royal worked as master electrician for 40 years; cofounded Alpine Electric with Bob Olsen and finished his career with the Grand Traverse Resort. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans and the Buckley Planning Commission.
Royal enjoyed traveling, photography and gardening. His curiosity kept him a life long student.
Royal is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Linda Heme, Gary (Nancy), Dan (Sandy) and Mike; his six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Don) Lint; brother, Glenn, and lifetime friends, Bob and Lois Sika.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Marty and Margaret and sister-in-law, Ruby Davis.
A informal gathering will be held 1pm to 4pm June 21st, 2014 at the Ball fields in Buckley. Memorial Contributions may be made to Buckley Fire and Rescue.
