Scott Sandy

Age 51, of Bellevue, MI, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014. He was born to Edwin and Patricia (Symko) Sandy on April 18, 1962 in Kalamazoo, MI. In 1980, he graduated from Loy Norrix in Kalamazoo, MI. After graduation, Scott proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years. On October 6, 1990 he married the love of his life Kelly Burpee. Scott was previously employed with Parker NWL. For the last 14 years, he worked for Duncan Aviation. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Scott was a gifted musician, playing bass in the band Uprise. He was a member of Pleasantview Family Church for 13 years. Most of all, Scott was a family man. His life revolved around his close family and kids. He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly of 23 years; children, Leah, Hannah, Trent; mother, Patricia (Arthur) Smith; siblings, Mary (Kevin) Brouard, Susan (Jim) Crowell, Tom (Laurel) Smith, Cameron (Cheryl) Smith, Jennifer Smith; numerous nieces and nephews; many special friends including the Uprise Band. He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Sandy. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2014 from 11 AM to 12 noon at Baxter Funeral & Cremation Service. The service will follow at 12 noon with Pastor Olmstead officiating. Interment will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
