Joel Siekman

SIEKMAN, MR. JOEL L. Rockford Mr. Joel "Bud" L. Siekman, age 94, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Friday afternoon, September 7, 2012. Mr. Siekman was the Class President of his graduating class from Davis Tech in 1935. On January 29, 1942 he was inducted in the Army Air Corp serving in Rhineland and Northern France where he replaced engines into military aircraft. Many will remember the commercial buildings and homes that he built in the Greater Grand Rapids area. After retiring he became a helping hand and advisor to his sons, Dale and Doug, at their business, Siekman Associates, for 20 years. Mr. Siekman was a life-time member of Calvary Reformed Church serving in many capacities including Deacon. His loving wife, Esther Jean, of 62 years preceded him in death on March 8, 2004, as did his sister, Priscilla Steenwyk, and his brother, Lewis Siekman. He is survived by his children, Dale and Cindy Siekman and Douglas and Bev Siekman; seven loving grandchildren and seven dear great grandchildren. The service for Mr. Siekman will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Pederson Funeral Home. Military honors will be under the auspices of the United States Army. Family and friends may greet Mr. Siekman's family on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
