Marion Conklin

Marion L. Conklin Battle Creek, 82, died Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Community Health Center of Branch County. She was born December 8, 1929 the daughter of Verne and Edith (Monk) Philley and was a 1948 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Marion was a homemaker, her husband and family always came first. Marion L. Philley was united in marriage in Battle Creek, on February 25, 1949 to Richard G. Conklin, Richard preceded her in death on April 13, 2004. She is survived by two sons, Steven J. (Loleth J.) Conklin of Coldwater, James W. (Sarita K.) Conklin of Ceresco; a daughter, Lori A. Reeves of Battle Creek; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband Richard. Marion was also preceded in death by her parents. She is a member of First Church of Christ Scientist and enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and puzzles, but her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family. At the request of the family, friends will be received from 5- 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Former First Reader, Donna Brown will officiate. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the First Church of Christ Scientist.
