Janet Skilling

SKILLING, JANET M. Dutton Janet M. Skilling, aged 79, of Dutton, moved to her Eternal Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 4, 2012. Janet loved teaching, she taught for 25 years; 23 were at Southwood Elementary in the Kentwood School System. She was a tireless volunteer at church and in her community. The most dear to her was the "Warm a Heart" organization that provides coats to needy children. At church Janet focused on raising funds for the mission field by organizing many delicious meals. She is survived by her husband, Nyal; sons, Michael (Marianne) Skilling, Thomas (Diane) Skilling, William (Nancy) Skilling, Robert (Kay) Skilling; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Harriet (Bernard) Mitchell; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bonnie (Jack) Gladding, Christine Skilling; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon Thursday, February 9, 2012, at Gaines Church. Interment in Blain Cemetery. Memorials in memory of Janet, may be made to Gaines Church, 1612 92nd St. SE. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and on Thursday from 11 am to 12 noon at the church.
