Mattie Aten

ATEN, MATTIE J. Mattie J. Aten, age 89, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2012. Mattie was born on August 28, 1922 to John and Mary (Westdorp) Talsma. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Aten; her son, Roger Aten; great grandson, David James Aten. Surviving are her children, Maxine Gilchrist, Robert Aten, Bruce (Jan) Aten, Kerwin Aten, Edward (Cindy) Aten, Carl (Kris) Aten, James Aten, and Warren (Pam) Aten; daughter-in-law, Pat Aten; brother, Joel Talsma; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 PM, at the Cook Memorial Chapel (east building), 4235 Prairie SW, Grandville, with Rev. Bruce Osbeck officiating. Relatives and friends may meet Mattie's family Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Cook Funeral Home (east building). Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
