Mr. Adkins died Thursday afternoon, June 30, 2005 at his home. He was born April 1, 1947 in Happy Hours, OH, son of Harold and Violet (Carter) Adkins. Tony worked owned and operated ADA Drywall for over 40 years until his retirement. He was currently employed as the Home Coordinator for Moman Assisted Living. On August 9, 1996, he married Deborah (Holubik) Tyra in Kalamazoo. Tony enjoyed to fish, camp, and travel; but most importantly he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Deborah; three daughters, Gwendolyn (Paul) Stewart of Waverly, OH, Sarilda (Doug) Davis of Jasper, OH, and Eileen Adkins, of Coronado, CA; his mother, Violet Adkins of Portage; three step-children, Pam (Tim) VanEngen, Denise (Dennis) Brizendine, and Josh Tyra all of Portage; 14 grandchildren; one brother, Harold (Alisha) Adkins of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Dalena Moman of Portage, and Selene (Randell) Love of Valrico, FL; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceding him in death are his father, Harold; and one sister, Clydia Qualls. In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or services. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to American Heart Association.
