DE BOER - Eugene DeBoer, aged 83, of Hudsonville, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Joyce (Brummel) De Boer. He is survived by his children, Rog and Deb Hoeksema, Doug and Beth DeBoer, Jodi Machiele and special friend, Dave Moralez; grandchildren, Mike and Mindy Koetje, Quentin and Melanie Schappa, Eric and Stacey Hoeksema, Heather Hoeksema, Nick and Sarah Hopkins, David and Michelle DeBoer, Matt DeBoer, Jordan DeBoer, Derek Machiele, Morgan Machiele; great grandchildren, Alyssa, Nathan and Mattias Koetje, Brody (and soon Quinn) Schappa, Peyton and Madison Hopkins, Paige and Brittney DeBoer; brothers and sisters, Dena Tanis, Marge DeBoer, Francis Broekhuis, Mabel Bolhuis, Evelyn VanDussen, Bill and Joyce DeBoer, Frank and Dorothy DeBoer; in-laws, Virginia Brummel, Al Wassink, Lila Brummel, Ruth Post, Rich and Louise Seif, Al and Velma VanderKlay, Don and Maxine Hoorn. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Hermina (Topp) DeBoer; brothers and sisters, Jeanette and Bill Koster, Cliff Tanis, Tice DeBoer, Ted and Billie DeBoer, Dorothy and Jim Lampen, Gerald DeBoer, Jerry Broekhuis, Betty and Art VanHouten, John VanDussen; in-laws, Clayton and Albertha Brummel, Cecil "Bud" Brower and Beatrice Brower Wassink, Don Brummel, John Post, Marvin "Red" Brummel, Don Covey. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel United Reformed Church with Rev. Travis Grassmid and Rev. Michael Koetje officiating. Interment Georgetown Cemetery. Friends may meet with the family at the VanderLaan Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. In honor of Eugene, contributions may be made to Mission India or International Christian Community Development - the organization supporting Eugene's grandson Eric.
