Dick Oswald

OSWALD - Mr. Dick Oswald, aged 88, of Kentwood, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 11, 2010. Dick was born to George and Agnes Oswald on April 20, 1922 in Grand Rapids. He attended Ottawa Hills High before working at Michigan Lithograph and attending the University of Grand Rapids. He married his childhood sweetheart Ginny Hall in 1944 then served in the Army Air Corps in Spokane. Dick treated his family to many wonderful years at Big Star Lake and loved hunting, fishing, softball, canoeing, cribbage, his friends, his church and his Lord. Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Ginny. He is survived by his children, Nancy (Jon) Bell-Harmony of Tarpon Springs, FL; Jim (Lynda) Oswald of Seaside, CA; David (Rose) Oswald of Holland, MI; nine grandchildren; brother-in-law, Ronald (Tina) Hall of Onekama, MI; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Dick and Ruth Nieusma, Jean Ide, Dr. Walter Boerman, and the rest of his lifelong cribbage group. Memorial services for Dick will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Fifth Reformed Church, 2012 Griggs SE, with Pastor Bruce Mulder officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fifth Reformed Church.
