David N. Wermer

David N. Wermer, age 51, of Battle Creek, died Wednesday July 28, 2010 at his home. Dave was born, April 2, 1959, in Battle Creek to David and Kathleen (MacCreery) Wermer and was a lifelong resident. He was a 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School and served in the US Army as an MP in Germany. Dave had worked on the grounds of Memorial Park Cemetery with his family beginning in his teenage years, later becoming Manager until 1997. He had co-managed the Custer Cove restaurant and worked in "advertising and marketing" at Little Caesars Pizza. Dave married the former Keri Parrish in June of 1985, the marriage ended in divorce. Dave is survived by his sons, Josh and Christopher Wermer of Battle Creek; sisters, Kristin (Michael) Bauman of Battle Creek, Jillene MacCreery of Falls Church, VA; a brother, Matthew (Francine) Wermer of Puryear TN; mother and father-in-law, Larry and Carol Burbank. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Kay Wermer. The family will receive friends at 12 noon Monday at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service, 223 N. Bedford Rd. Memorial services will be held 1:30 PM Monday at the funeral home, Pastor David Morton officiating. Interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors.
